Dear team,

I think we should prepare as a team and get to know each
other better before the trip!

So I’m going to get things started, here’s how I was called
to missions:

One day my freshman year, I was at an engineering thing (my
school has a focus in engineering). The keynote speaker was encouraging all of
us high school students to get involved in engineering. I remember sitting in
my chair listening when I heard her say that in the last 50 years, American has
not put a substantial amount of money and work into infrastructure and
engineering and that in the next 50 years, we need to make more buildings,
houses, roads etc.

I remember almost crying on the spot. Look at America: all
of our buildings, houses, roads, everything! We have it all (as far as human
wealth goes). At that moment, I thought about people all over the world that
were just wishing and hoping for a house, but did not have one. Why weren’t we
building houses for them?

While engineering is not passion, my life changed in that
moment. I realized how materially wealthy we are, yet how America (and much of
the world) is in spiritual poverty. It broke my heart. I knew I was called to
be a missionary, telling my world and the world about Christ.

Being a missionary, wherever I am, is a hard thing. It
requires an amount of love that, sadly, most days I don’t have. It is a
constant battle.

But this year, God has shown me something about feet and
being His missionary. I would like to share it with you. (I’ll give you the
short version and tell you the full version when we are together!). Basically,
God calls us to carry the message of His Love to His people. We carry it with
our feet.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger
who brings the good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that
the God of Israel reigns! – Isaiah 52:7

We bring the message of Christ. God chose us to carry His
message. Did you ever think about that? The Chosen One chose us to be His messengers.

Thanks for reading,

Much love,

Christina

P.S. I’d love to hear how you were called to the mission
field and any prayer needs you have!
